Family Activity Holidays

We know one of the biggest challenges on a family holiday is keeping the kids entertained: so we've planned in advance. Nearly all of our hotels feature pools, and each day has a great mix of action-packed adventure and flexible free time. So whether your family is a fan of non-stop activites or just wants to try something different, your local leader can suggest activities based on your kids' hobbies and to suit your family.

Even if that's boiling an egg in Iceland's hot springs or taking on the white rapids in Croatia, you and your new found family friends can enjoy a great adventure.

Try something new

We love sampling a new activity or enjoying a new experience. So we've compiled a list of our favourite activites, some you may know well, or some you've always wanted to try.

Snorkelling in South Africa?

From visiting an authentic Zulu village to kayaking amongst the mangroves, explore the picturesque jungle landscapes of Kosi Bay. Snorkel through the colourful coral reef amongst multi-coloured fish species on this African family activity holiday.

Hot and Cold

As families who are limited to the school holidays to try your own adventure, some of our adventures are more suitable in different seasons.

Summer activity holidays

Summer holidays

For a warm summer holiday, set sail along the Amalfi coast, learning to sail with your personal skipper whilst following in the tailwinds of a powerful ancient civilisation. Head to the USA, warm, dry and sunny at this time of year, hike into the Grand Canyon or visit the incredible wilderness of Alaska.

It’s the African dry season, so perfect for kids on safari in the cooler temperatures; learn to throw spears with the Maasai Warriors, snorkel in the crystal clear waters of Zanzibar or try some sandboarding in picturesque Swakpomund.

Winter activity holidays

Winter holidays

For those in search of some sun in the winter months, head to sun-blushed Burma and turn your hand to pottery making in the traditional Burmese way; kids will love their new found talent and will come home with great memories and souvenirs. Travel back in time and pretend to be Roman gladiators in the ancient town of Jerash, Jordan, before jumping into a 4WD for the ultimate desert adventure, topping it off with a night camping under the stars, Bedouin style.

For a truly white Christmas, try skiing, snowboarding and husky-dog sledding before warming up with a very hot hot chocolate in the fairy tale settings of Slovakia. Learn the unique skill of igloo building or explore the white winter wonderland on snowmobiles, not too far afield in Andorra.
